“We met Tom in June 2023 during a particularly horrendous time for Sudan, just after Sudan's war started on 15th April 2023. Our charity, whose mission is to help Sudanese refugees build meaningful lives in the UK, was tested to its core.
Tom helped us find our strategic pitch. Most importantly, this was not only a collaboration with us as a charity, but it was also about safety, earning trust and prioritising the wellbeing of Liela who called on us to help her raise her voice by documenting her testimony of escaping war in Sudan. Thanks to Tom, not only did we succeed in our mission but he raised the bar beyond our wildest expectations ensuring we and Liela consented through each stage, each process, guiding us and leading us to what has now become an internationally award-winning documentary film.”
